Dooley and Fifa Conquer the World

Dooley and Fifa wandered onto the beach. Unfamiliar territory. New adventure. The sand squished between their paw pads as they neared the large body of water. There was a faint fishy smell in the air that made them curious. You go first, no, you go first, no, you go first, ensued until it was decided that they both go first. And just like best fur-friends do, they discovered the pond together. It was an exhilarating feeling as they ran in and out, romping and rolling and running and playing. Exhausted, they both went back to take naps.

Birdie's first single.

Every Snack You Make (Every Breath You Take by Sting)

Every snack you make
Every meal you bake
Every bite you take
Every crumb that falls
I'll be watching you

Every doughnut you buy
Every cookie you eat
Every sandwich you make
Every bacon you fry
I'll be watching you

O can't you see
You should share with me
How my poor tummy grumbles
With every bite you take

Every snack you make
Every meal you bake
Every bite you take
Every crumb that falls
I'll be watching you

Since you're done can I lick the plate?
I dream at night of a big fat, juicy steak
I look around but it's all gone
I feel so sad as I long for that last bite
I keep crying baby, baby please

Every snack you make
Every meal you bake
Every bite you take
Every crumb that falls
I'll be watching you.........

I'm A Little Shepherd (I'm A Little Teapot)

I'm a little Shepherd
Big and tall
Here is my bushy tail
Here is my snout
When I get all excited
Hear me shout
I'm telling you to hurry & let me out!

I am a very special Shepherd
It is true
Here is an example of what I can do
I can find tennis balls in the park
Take it from me & play fetch!

Say it isn't so! A year old? Already?! But...but...but...it feels like it was just yesterday that you were coming in for your temperament test. When we first met you were such a puppy with puppy energy and puppy nap times, where has the time gone? Look how you've grown! And we're not just talking about how big you've gotten either! You've grown up to be quite an intelligent one year old. You are such a sweetheart! You love to please and be with your fur-friends! You are an adorable ball of energy. Bailey, we are so happy to be able to watch you grow (even know we are going to miss those puppy days)! Happy 1st birthday, Bailey! We hope your day was filled with FUN FUN FUN! And judging from the pictures from today, it sure does look like you did!

Conversation Overheard in the Park

You're pretty
So are you
Be my friend
Sure
Wanna run
Chase me
Is it my turn
Chase me more
Smell these flowers
I want to pick them
For me
All for you
You're sweet
Not as sweet at you

The Wanderers

travel across the landscape
looking for nothing
and no one.
Wanderers wander
for wanderings sake.
Rain or shine
wanderers follow
their nose close to the ground
the smell of the world
their map.
Wanderers need no direction
the art of wandering
is their profession.
To be one with nature
to be wild
and free.

Spotting An Olligator

This mysterious and aloof creature is a magical sight to stumble upon in this wet, untainted environment. If you are looking to spot this furry-friendly creature, one must first look for the least populated area. This Olligator (pictured) in particular enjoys the company of a few semi-active fur-creatures to keep him company. The Olligator prefers to observe versus chase. Olligator's love to get dirty, scientists say that it has something to do with how they are built so low to the ground. Olligator's love to collect dirt, mud, leaves, etc. in their fluffy coats.

The concoction for a perfect day for an Olligator is migrating to the Ranch and traversing the landscape. Today, due to the massive amount of rain the Olligator was spotted wading in and out of puddles. The Olligator is a creature of adventure, so one can always find him discovering new ways to have fun!

Dear Star Buddy,

You have failed me. Broke my heart. Crushed my dreams. Demolished my optimism. Need I go on? Oh, yes, one more: took away my hope. At first I was excited when you told me that you and I were going to play together. Usually I love playing with you, we have a great time! NOT ANYMORE! And you know why too. Don't you? If you don't, you should because you did it. It wasn't my fault like you thought it would be, no, it was ALL yours. But because I am making this personal letter to you public, I will fill my fur-friends and the other people in on "The Tail of How the Star Buddy Broke Bear's Heart."

It all started when I saw you grab the Chuck-It and stuff a tennis ball into your back pocket. Oh boy! I sure was excited. I was like "Yes! She and I are going to play fetch!" I love fetch. I love balls. I love fetching balls. We get over to our park and I'm dancing around you all eager as you pull the tennis ball out of your back pocket and load the Chuck-It. And then you know what?! You had the audacity to say "Now don't go losing it, I only have one ball." Oh, really now! What happened next Star Buddy? Hmm...what happened next? Did I lose it? No, then you go and throw it AND IT GETS STUCK IN A TREE! Stuck. Straight up stuck. Sure, you tell me not to lose it, but I didn't get it stuck in a tree. At this point I became very confused, and slightly sad, I thought you had made the ball magically disappear. That was until you told me that it was in the tree, and I could not get it out of the tree. So I told you to find a new one. AND YOU DID! AND I WAS HAPPY AGAIN! And then you made my day even better by taking me to the POND! I think that was probably because you felt guilty for losing the first ball, so you were trying make up for it by giving me everything that I love: balls and the pond. And then what happened Star Buddy? Should I tell "The Tail of How the Star Buddy Broke Bear's Heart: Part Two?"

This is the picture you took before you did what you did. Look how happy I am! At how excited I am! And how patient I am sitting. LOOK AT IT! REMEMBER IT! And then you threw it. But you seem to have forgotten. I don't "swim", I wade. And you threw it too far. Out to like the middle of the pond! Do I look like a Retriever to you!? I couldn't go get it. You LOST my second ball. And I made you watch as I frantically pranced at the water's edge just watching my ball float all the way out there...all alone...

So to end this story, Star Buddy, I made sure to make you feel guilty for the rest of the run by frantically looking for other balls to play with.

And you owe me a FANTASTIC game of fetch tomorrow where you don't lose ANY balls. Okay?

Sincerely,
Bear

P.S. I still love you :)

Bug's Eye View

GIANTS!
Sound the alarm
They've detected us
We are in harm
This is not a drill
Run for your life
Head for the hill
Hide!
Behind pebble
Behind twig
Behind droplets
Of wet sand
This is not a drill
Here comes the nose
Next the mouth
Beware of their lick!

ANTS!
Let's watch
As they panic
As we get closer
Watch them run.

Now!
What else do we want?!
Treats!
When do we want them?!
ALWAYS!

Such a great day for all our fur-friends!

The Side Effects of a Fun Day at Doggy Daycare Are:

- Exercise
- Exhaustion
- Nap-time
- Napping
- More napping

Miss Briar, you have had quite the day! As far as first days go, you've packed yours full of playing with toys, cuddling with Star Buddies, meeting fur-friends, meeting more fur-friends, romping around the Star Buddy Park with your newly met fur-friends, and the most adventurous part of your day...GOING TO THE POND! You were a little hesitant about the whole water situation, but with the encouragement of your fur-friends you found yourself SWIMMING! You've had a fun-filled, exciting day little miss. I think I can speak for all our Star Buddies and Staff, we are in love with your puppy-antics. You are cuddling and cute, soft, and full of kisses! We are excited to have you at the Ranch, and we are even more excited to experience your growth and watch you learn!

This little sleeping beauty LOVED her first day!

The tiny voice in my head imagines Seamus with an Irish accent, partially because he is an Irish Wolfhound with a strong Irish name.

Seamus is a first-time boarder, so WELCOME to the Ranch, Seamus! This big fella had a fun-filled first day at the Ranch exploring and running around! He is enjoying his vacation very much! Seamus, you are an absolute sweetheart, and we look forward to getting to know you more during your stay with us!!

DayStar of the Month for May 2015 ~ Briggs Bernard

Time sure does fly by when you’re having fun! It seems like it was just yesterday that this special boy came through our doors full of puppy energy eager to play. We are happy to share that Sir Briggs Bernard has been unanimously voted as the DayStar of the Month for May 2015! Briggs is a big ol’ boy who knows how to have a good time! Briggs has been coming to the Ranch since July 2012. His runs in the park are never boring, especially when he has a great group of fur-friends to play with! Let’s just say that Briggs always needs a good blow out at the end of the night, otherwise he would be bringing home half the park’s sand and mud with him (no joke)! And wow, does he look like a new man every time after the grooming salon gets their hands on him; he loves to be pampered! Briggs, you are one special fur-baby, and we are so honored to be able to watch you grow and learn so much over the past three years! You continue to be such a joy to the Ranch!

Take Me Out To The Pond (Parody of Take Me Out To The Ball Game)

Take me out to the pond
Take me out with my fur-friends
Let me swim and roll in sand
I don't care if I stay clean
Let me swim, swim, swim
To the other side
If I don't catch a fish it's a shame
Aahh.
For it's one,
Two,
Three tries you're done
At the good ole' pond

All I need is nice weather
I could run and play all day
There isn't anything else I'd like to do
Maybe I'll stay here for hours
And swim, swim, swim
For the rest of the day
Here comes Ruby and Riley
'Cause I know
That
They'll be swimmin'
At the pond
With
Me!

What a lovely day for the pond and park!
