Attention Park Members:
Effective IMMEDIATELY:
The
Canine Express (walkway back to the nature trails and pond) will be LEASHED
ONLY and NO CONTACT with boarding / guest dogs!! This is in effect until
further notice. Fence running and chasing is NOT ALLOWED at the Dog Star Ranch and VERY DANGEROUS for you and your
dog. No exceptions to the rule. If your dog is caught fence chasing and you
do nothing to correct the behavior, you may be moved to a Reserve Member.
Dog Star Ranch is a 48 acre, fully fenced in, regulated dog park. What does regulated mean? There are also rules set up for the parks to
keep you and your dog safe. The above
changes to the Canine Express are one of these rules. For a complete list of park rules, please
refer to our Welcome Packet at http://dogstarranch.com/docs/DSR_Welcome_Packet.pdf
Reminder about the
Canine Frontier nature trails:
The trails are fully fenced in so your dog is welcome to be off leash as
long as you can see your dog AND your dog MUST have a recall. There is no expectation to this rule. If you can not see your dog or you can not
call your dog back to you, you do not know if your dog is behaving or even if
your dog is okay. If this is something
that you are struggling with, please make an appointment with our training team
and we’ll help figure out what will work best for you and your dog. If your dog is out of sight and recall and
you do nothing to rectify the situation, you may be moved to a Reserve Member.
THE PONDS ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN!! They are both clear of any ice so they are
ready for use! As a reminder, swimming
is for dogs only, no humans.
What is a Poop Oops?
When your dog poops and you don’t see it, that’s an “oops.” Assume that every dog has an “oops” from time
to time. If you see an “oops” in the
parks, please do your part and pick it up!
Here at the Ranch we say “pick it up now or step in it later!”
The Dog Star Ranch Park rules are set up to
keep the parks healthy and safe for everyone who uses it, human and
canine. We are here to help so
definitely contact us with any concerns, questions, or issues.

DayStar of the Month ~ March 2014
DayStar of the Month ~ March 2014
We have the joy of sharing that this month’s DayStar of the
Month is a happy little guy that loves to sing, or howl, and dance! Congratulations go out to Mr. Gandalf Johnson
for being voted the DayStar of the Month for March! Gandalf started coming in August of
2011. He started in a rescue and found
his way to the Johnson pack. It is so
hard to get a photo of him when he doesn’t have his head in the air just
“singin” away! He is always such a happy
boy, so full of life, and loves a good back scratch. He is a wonderful companion that goes great
with all dogs, big or small, old or young.
He has been a great comfort to his younger brother, also a rescue, as he
was dealing with heartworm treatment.
Gandalf, you are a wonderful little guy and we are so happy to be a part
of your life! Congratulations to Gandalf
Johnson as you are the DayStar of Month for March 2014.
