This was too awesome not to share... Meet Lilly. She had a rough start on life and found her way to Pound Buddies and has since been adopted by her foster parents. She had surgeries to remove a tumor (I believe), is completely blind in one eye, and slightly blind in the other eye. She is a 7 year old Chihuahua. When Lilly checked in to board on Monday, she was very, very shy and very reserved. She didn't want anything to do with anyone (human or canine). All she wanted was to sit in her little box with her blankets. The only people that she felt comfortable with where her new human parents. It took some time for her to warm up to us enough to accept a treat and she is a very food motivated girl.
(I wish that I had video taped her on arrival) This video was taken after Lilly had been boarding with us for a couple of days and look at how happy and comfortable she is!!! She is running and playing all around the front office! She is excited to run up to me who she has only known since Monday. Everyone at DSR has taken the extra time needed to make Lilly feel comfortable. She now is enjoying herself, running laps around the front office, playing with us. That just goes to show that Dog Star Ranch can give every dog somethin' to bark about!
