What another sunny, sandy day out here at the Ranch! Today we have 16 Daystars here to join in the mix. Not a huge day, but there are plenty of us to have some park fun. Tennis balls were definitely the toy of choice for the day! The tennis balls were flying in and out of the pond. Jackson even took some time and tried to figure out how to get two balls in his mouth at the same time (and he was unsuccessfull). We even had a newcomber. Reggie brought his sister, Simone, in for the day. They both had a great time. Sam, of the Sam and Frodo duo, didn't join Frodo for daycare today due to sore leg, but Frodo made some new pals that he'll have to tell Sam all about! Same goes for Bosley. You'll have to share your adventures with Elf when you get home. Everyone had a great day and everyone was happy for that refreshing Cody's Cove visit! We hope you all had as much fun as we did with your visit to Daycare!

July 30, 08

Today was rather slow for daycare but that didn’t stop the fun. Everyone got a trip down to the pond and today was the first day Daisy left the shallow waters to join her friends in a swim around the pond; she didn’t want to stop swimming after that. Ginger made some new friends, Dexter and Mollie and they wrestled pretty much nonstop on our laps around the pond. Phoebe was also fortunate enough to have some friends today, Banjo and Daisy. Phoebe and Daisy almost immediately bonded and took off chasing each other and once we were at the pond they would take turns stalking one another and poking each other with their noses. Despite the slow pace of the morning, things sped along and the fun times sure made time fly.

What a great start to another week! July 28th

What a fantastic way to start the week! Cool water, sand between my toes, and fresh air in my lungs! It's a great day to be a dog... Check out the photos of our day's adventures...

We wrapped up the week with tons of fun to be had by all. We even welcomed another puppy into the Daycare program. Little Benji (the black lab pup with the red collar) came for his first day today and had a great time. It didn't take him long to hop into the mix. As you can see all the Daycare dogs had a fun day. Rock and Red teamed up up Thea for some major tennis ball fun. Rebel and Lewie had their own beach party with their tree branch while the other retrievers enjoyed major swimming and fetch. Everyone had a good send of to another July week! Have a great weekend and we'll cya'll next week!

The question of the day is...

Well, Konig's dad has been asking us if we can teach the ol' boy how to swim. I think it may have happened and we have the photos to prove it! I'll let you be the judge. Take a look and let me know what you think. We also have a new addition. Ya'll know Miss Beenie. We'll she has a super duper cute little sister named Izzie. She has a ways to go to fill Beenie's collar, but she's well on her way to winning the Star Buddies hearts. All the Daystars today had a fabulous time and they can't wait to share their adventures with their families. Cya tomorrow!

Due to the weather we were not fortunate enough to capture 1 group on film; Meggy, Molly, Banjo and Chelsea. At first everyone kept to themselves but after some poking and prodding by Chelsea everyone came around and let their inner puppy come out. Chelsea and Molly hit it off great while Meg and Banjo preferred to play with each other by chasing the ball together but Meg quickly grew tired of that she was quick to join the other 2 in their shenanigans. All in all they were a great group and had a blast with each other

Wet and Wild Fun at the Ranch!

Today's high temperature was perfect for a day at the pond and last night's storm created a few puddles that were enjoyed by the smaller dogs. Though some dogs were a little afraid of swimming in the pond, everyone made their way down to the waters edge and at least dunked their upper bodies in the cooling water, and some felt the need to play in the mud puddles created by the hot afternoon sun. Still others just let loose and ran around like maniacs, not the least bothered by the scorching heat. New friends were made and some great moments were captured for all to see. Days like this are the reason your furry family members love coming to Dog Star.

We try very hard here at the Ranch to get each and every daystar in the frame and in focus of the pictures we take for the day, it is sometimes an impossible feat. Rest assured though, if your pup is somewhat damp, sandy, and / or tired, they were definately in daycare and participating in the FUN!

Rainy Monday to Star the Week

~ Banjo ~ Bo ~ Chelsea ~ Copper ~ Ella ~ Hans ~
~ Hilde ~ Molly Sue ~ Rebel ~
~ Red ~ Rock ~ Sam ~ Trixie ~ Winston ~

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day… Actually, bring it on! The more rain we receive the more mud to follow! There sure was a lot going on at the Ranch today. A lot of the boarding dogs were heading home from their holiday vacation and in we come to enjoy another day of Daycare! Today we have a couple newbies on board. Molly Sue and her brother Winston were here from Canton ready to join in the mix and that they did! They had a great time with all their new friends. Everyone enjoyed the day to the fullest! It's a good thing some of you were lined up to head to the Grooming Salon. Some of you wanted to show your parents how much fun you really had with the mud on your fur coats. We were hoping to have some photos to prove it, but the camera doesn’t really work well in the rain and water…

Also Happy Belated 4th of July you fabulous Daystars from all your Star Buddies and Day Buddies!

This is Part #2 of the boarding special for July 4th! See all the info on the following blog and enjoy!

Special Treat for Boarding Dog Stars!

Since Dog Star Ranch didn't have a typical Daycare day on Friday, July 4th, we decided to do something extra special for our boarding dogs. Today the blog is just for you (and your parents)!!! Muskegon (and Rothbury) is a hoppin' place this weekend and the Boarding Dog Stars wanted to bark their own songs! Just click on the photos that you want to see and it enlarge them for better viewing. If you proud parents would like a print out (on 8x11 photo paper), please let us know. It's just $15.00 per sheet! If you are interested please email Jen at and I'll get that set up for you. If for some reason you don't see your pup, please email me as well. We have tons of photos and I tried to make sure that everyone was in them, but I have lots that I didn't post as well. Also feel free to post your comments. The Star Buddies always love to hear what you have to say!
